The original ensuite had the basin crammed near the doorway, the toilet and shower pushed off to one side, and carpet underfoot. The clients came to us with a clear picture of what they wanted instead: warm tones and Mediterranean character. Working with our interior designer Amanda, the layout was reworked from scratch. The walk-in robe was brought into the ensuite to make one generous space, and the old shower window came out to free up the plan, with downlights keeping the room bright.
Travertine-look tiles and soft arched forms carry the character of the rest of the home through into the bathroom. The dome wall sconces do a lot of the work here, chosen over a central ceiling light for a softer, more luxe feel at night. A wall niche keeps the shower clear of clutter. Absorbing the robe has changed how the whole space functions, with proper storage now sitting inside the ensuite.
