This ensuite started with an unconventional layout that gave the clients more space than most, just not arranged in a way that worked day to day. Amanda, our interior designer, reworked the plan around how they actually use the room. The footprint allowed for a generous shower recess, with the rainfall head set opposite the tapware so nobody cops a dash of cold water reaching in to turn it on.
Storage was solved without adding bulk. There’s a custom cupboard tucked behind the shower, curved drawer fronts, and powerpoints integrated into the mirrored cabinet so the benchtop stays clear. Underfloor heating went in as well. The clients chose the Italian tiles in person, and the lighting plan was reworked from the ground up, with bulkheads measured to protect head height in the shower and every fitting sitting flush with the ceiling in place of the low-hung fixtures that were there before. Rod managed the build.
