The original ensuite was small and dated, with a step-in cubicle shower, a low vanity and brass fittings well past their time. The client had been reshaping the rest of the home and the ensuite was the next piece, this time with accessibility built in from the start. The shower was relocated to open it up properly. Generous walk-in access, room for a seat, and enough space to move around freely without a step to negotiate.
Amanda worked through the selections with the client, from tile placement to where the mirror sat, and how best to give the feature tile the wall it deserved. It’s a soft, earthy green, and it sets the tone for everything around it. A heated towel rail and black fixtures give the room a hotel feel, which came directly from bathrooms the client had stayed in while travelling. Practical underneath, warmer than a purely functional brief would have produced.
