Neither room had changed since the house was built in the late 90s, and it showed. Dated finishes, clunky layouts, and an ensuite shower door that opened straight into the doorway, which made a small room feel smaller again. The fix was less about knocking walls down and more about rethinking the flow. Layout changes opened up options the clients hadn’t thought were possible in the footprint, including a double vanity in the ensuite.
Removing the bath made way for a generous walk-in shower, and the shower niche has turned out to be the most-loved feature, finally giving everything a place off the floor. Power points went into the drawers to keep the benchtops clear. Neutral tones and modern finishes let both rooms sit comfortably with the rest of the house, while mirrored cabinetry, large-format tiles and clean lines give them the calm, hotel-like feel the clients were after.
