Designed for Now, Ready for the Future
This kitchen renovation was about more than style. It was about creating a forever home, one that’s easier to live in now and practical for years to come. The original kitchen was dated and difficult to maintain, with awkward corner cupboards, no dishwasher, and unused space above the cabinets that only gathered dust. Working closely with our interior designer Amanda, the client reimagined the kitchen from the ground up.
The new design is light, open, and full of clever features that make everyday life easier. The layout stayed relatively consistent, but every surface, storage option, and appliance was carefully selected for safety, accessibility, and ease of use. Drawers replaced hard-to-reach cupboards, and smart internal systems now bring pantry and corner items forward with minimal effort. Even the kickboard is functional; it can be pulled out as a step when needed.
Amanda guided the client through layout options and product selections, including light colour palettes that help with visual contrast and safe navigation. One of the must-haves was a hidden tea and coffee station, inspired by a neighbour’s kitchen, and cleverly integrated into the cabinetry. The reclaimed timber detail under the cabinets adds warmth and character, complementing the modern appliances and induction cooktop.
An Illume skylight was installed on Shane’s recommendation, bringing beautiful light into the room at all hours. Intelligent appliances complete the space, with timers, remote controls, and built-in alerts that let the kitchen do the thinking. Even the second drawer features built-in power points, adding to the sense of ease.
This kitchen is calm, clean, and completely tailored to the client’s needs. It is designed with care, built with purpose, and ready to support many happy years ahead.
