Story

A Smarter Ensuite with a Better Use of Space

The original ensuite had done its job for years, but the layout never quite made sense. Dated lino floors, a toilet placed awkwardly near the doorway, and an off-centre mirror above a basic vanity made the space feel disjointed and underutilised. It was functional, but the shower area wasted valuable space, and storage just wasn’t keeping up.

Rather than completely rework the layout, the renovation focused on making the most of what was already there. A larger shower, full tiling, updated vanity, and a few key design decisions gave the room a whole new level of comfort and usability. The inclusion of a proper extractor fan made a noticeable difference, and the new layout allowed the toilet to be repositioned further from the entrance for better flow.

Working closely with our interior designer, Amanda, was a highlight. She provided honest, practical advice and was always open to feedback. The clients were initially keen on a walk-in shower but, after Amanda’s input, opted for a large enclosed design that has since become their favourite feature. The dual shower head, spacious feel, and sleek structure of the sink all came together to create a much more polished result.

With great communication and a responsive team, the process ran smoothly from start to finish, aside from a short wait on the custom shower screen. Now, the ensuite feels bigger, brighter, and far more functional. It’s proof that even a relatively modest layout can be elevated with the right team and thoughtful design.
