Story

A Brighter, Smarter Bathroom Built Around Family and Function

Originally built in the 1980s, this bathroom had long outlived its practicality. The layout was dated, the shower was tiny, and the space never really worked, especially for visiting family and older guests. The clients had put up with it for years, but a larger renovation at that end of the house finally made it possible to give the bathroom the attention it deserved.

The old window was bricked in to allow a large mirror to take its place, bringing in brightness and a sense of depth. A solar skylight and full-height tiling helped lift the space even further.

The clients came into the project with strong ideas. Two shower niches and a full-width shelf were non-negotiables, even when others suggested a simpler approach. A pre-purchased vanity cabinet became the design anchor, with Amanda helping to guide tile choices and recommend the perfect benchtop to complement it. Her input brought the vision to life, balancing practicality with thoughtful details.

The process was smooth from start to finish. Everything was clearly documented, costed upfront, and managed with care. Expert advice, including battening the bathroom walls for a better finish, made a real difference to the outcome.

The result is a bright, modern, highly functional bathroom that suits the family’s needs and preferences perfectly. It’s welcoming for kids and grandkids, user-friendly for guests, and built to match the way this family lives.
